Tantalizing near-future sci-fi

Mr. Dahners has hit it out of the park once again with an exciting glimpse of what may come to pass in our lifetime.
This author doesn’t do ray guns, AG and FTL. This is what I’d call real world science fiction ... taking what really smart people in the here-and-now actually know and pushing one hypothetical step farther, then speculating on the results.
As usual with all his stories, the science and speculation provide an interesting backdrop to the characters, who remain engaging and all too human even while being the smartest people in any room they wander into.
